1966 Ford Mustang Restoration

I could easily devote pages of text to describe all the details of the restoration, but I'll let the pictures describe the rest. I started the restoration on April 10th, 1994, and spent almost 2 years on the project. After grinding through five paints jobs and pounds of bondo, I ended up with what looked like a DeLorean. I replaced the left side of the Mustang with an original fender, a door skin, and a quarter panel assembly. I got lucky on the right side by replacing only the lower rear quarter panel. I also replaced the hood, headlight buckets, trunk lid, and both lower valances. I then covered the bare metal with a two part metal etching epoxy primer, and finished it with Dupont Imron Candy Apple Red. The interior was given a similar treatment by stripping down all metal surfaces. Then, all lower surfaces were covered with POR 15 rust treatment. Before replacing all the suspension with NOS components, I treated the under carriage with POR 15 as well. I also found an NOS gas tank, and replaced all the fuel lines with stainless steel. Lastly, all chrome and stainless trim were either replaced with NOS parts or refinished. I was lucking enough to find all the NOS parts at a local Ford dealership.
