1996 Ford Mustang Data

Most of your Ford Mustang's information can be found the driver's side door tag. First, make sure the VIN number matches the one permanently stamped on the car. The VIN number is the only number the DMV cares about, and it's also on your registration. Over the years, damaged doors have been replaced from other Mustangs along with their door tags. Well, what do you do in that case? If it missing, you can have one reproduced by Marti Auto Works. Sometimes, exterior color codes are left blank because, those vehicle may have had special order colors like Pink or Frost Mint Green. Options like GT Equipment, Vinyl Tops or Wheels are found only on the Window Stickers or Build Sheets. Two of the codes worth mentioning are the Consecutive Number and the DSO. Each plant began with 100001, and were issued randomly to vehicles coming off the assembly line. Mustang, Falcons and Fairlanes all shared the same assembly line at any given time. The DSO numbers are important when getting smogged. For example, if your tag says 71 or 72 then they were made with smog equipment for sale in California. I hope that didn't bore you to much.
